Hi everyone out there in the internets and world wide spider webs,
Things are a little nutty crazy here in Koala land as we prepare for our September launch. What day in September, you ask? A valid question to which you deserve to know the answer. That answer is September 29th! Why on a Wednesday, you ask? Because as any hard core geek knows, Wednesday is new comic book day at the comic book stores! So, why not start your day with two very bad koalas before you journey to your local funny book store? And on that Wednesday premiere date on September 29th 2010, you can look forward to a new VBK strip every Wednesday for a whole freakin’ year! (Not a guarantee)
Here’s the inside scoop, we KNOW the entire 52 week run. All the adventures have been planned out. We have an ending. And unlike your favorite recently ended TV series, we know where we are going. We will not add a Jacob or keep things open to ‘interpretation’. We know what we’re doing (trust us). In fact, we have 2 endings. We have an ending that will work as a Season 1 ending and we have a SERIES ending. Either will work and we’ll see how exhausted we are by then.
Once we had the core idea for the series, Nick and I worked out a bunch of storylines. In fact we had so many, that we went through all of them and picked the very best for Season 1. The leftovers are not bad, in fact one was bumped to a potential season 2 for character development reasons, but it shows you how dedicated we are to provide only the best VBK for your free viewing pleasure.
Remember, you get what you pay for!
Our lovely Baron Von Brendon will begin his convention tour (known as the ‘Very Bad Tour’) promoting the hell out of our little comic strip. First stop is Wizard World Chicago on August 20-22 with a famous meet and greet on August 20th as well. Shortly thereafter, our Nicky will be flying his way towards Paris for the UltimArt Convention on August 27th- 29th.
We have prepared some giveaways and contest prizes including the very first VBK promo T-shirt. So far only created in an edition of 10, we will be have three for Chicago Convention, one for the Meet and Greet and two for Paris. If we turn out to be a huge phenomenon, then these will be very valuable. If we don’t, you can use it to pick up after your pet. We don’t yet know how we’ll distribute these desirable T-shirts but extra points if you greet Nicky in a Koala costume. We also have three different kinds of give-away stickers in a variety of colors and something unique for the meet and greet! I told you it was nutty crazy! In upcoming blogs we’ll focus on the making of the comic from writing to art to getting it online. We’ll also be having a contest on the VBK website for a very cool piece of VBK merchandise!
